Custom Granite Countertops — Chosen in Person, Fabricated and Installed by Our Team

Granite countertops have been a kitchen and bathroom standard for decades because of their durability, heat resistance, and the visual depth that no manufactured material fully replicates. Every granite slab is pulled from a specific quarry and carries its own unique pattern, movement, and color variation. No two granite countertops look exactly alike, which is why we strongly recommend viewing slabs in person before making a selection.

We source granite through Preferred Marble and Granite and The Granite Place. Our Auburndale showroom allows you to view and compare slab options under real lighting conditions before any commitment is made. Once a slab is selected, our in-house fabrication team cuts, edges, and finishes the countertop at our Auburndale shop. Installation is handled by the same team that fabricated it. We have been doing this since 2018 and serve homeowners from Polk County to Miami. For flooring, visit our Lakeland showroom.

Why Granite

Why Homeowners in Polk County Still Choose Granite

In a market filled with engineered alternatives, granite holds its ground for specific reasons. Here is an honest look at what granite does well and where it requires more consideration.

Granite Advantages

Granite is one of the hardest natural stones used in countertop fabrication. It resists heat — you can place a hot pan directly on properly sealed granite without damage. Each slab is visually unique, which is a genuine advantage for homeowners who want a countertop with character that no engineered material can match. Granite is also durable enough to last the lifetime of the home when properly maintained. With annual sealing, it resists stains and maintains its appearance over decades.

Important Considerations

Granite requires sealing on installation and once per year thereafter to maintain stain resistance. Because it is a natural stone, the slab you view in the showroom is the exact slab that gets fabricated — no two pieces of granite are identical, which means viewing and approving a specific slab is part of the selection process. Florida's UV exposure can gradually affect some granite finishes over time in outdoor applications, where porcelain or quartz may be a more resilient choice. Our team walks through these considerations with you during the consultation.

Our Process

How a Granite Countertop Project Works

Showroom Consultation

We discuss your kitchen or bathroom layout, color palette, edge profiles, and maintenance preferences before you view any slabs. This helps narrow the selection to options that genuinely fit your project.

Slab Selection

You select a specific slab — not just a sample — from our supplier partners. The slab you approve is the one that gets fabricated. We can accompany you to view slabs in person at the slab yard when needed.

On-Site Templating

We visit your home to template the exact countertop dimensions, including cutouts for sinks, cooktops, and any special features. Precision templating is what ensures a proper fit on installation day.

In-House Fabrication

Our Auburndale shop cuts and finishes the granite countertop to the template specifications. We do not outsource any part of this process. Edge profiles are cut to your specification during fabrication.

Professional Installation

Our installation crew sets the granite, seals it on completion, and installs any undermount sinks or fixtures included in the scope. We complete a final walkthrough with you before closing out the project.

Care Guidance

We walk you through granite care on completion — the right cleaning products, re-sealing schedule, and what to avoid to keep your granite countertop in good condition for years.

FAQs

Granite Countertop Questions

Yes. Granite is a porous natural stone and requires sealing to prevent stains from oils, wine, and acidic liquids. We seal all granite countertops on installation. Annual re-sealing is recommended to maintain optimal stain resistance. Some denser granite varieties may require sealing less frequently — we advise on this during installation.
From showroom consultation and slab selection to completed installation, most granite countertop projects take two to four weeks. The timeline includes the on-site templating visit, fabrication at our Auburndale shop, and scheduling the installation crew. We provide a specific timeline during your consultation.
Granite can be used in covered outdoor kitchens in Florida but requires more frequent sealing in outdoor conditions and may be affected by prolonged UV exposure over time. For fully exposed outdoor applications, we often recommend porcelain surfaces as a more UV and weather-resistant alternative. We are happy to discuss the best material for your specific outdoor project.
Yes. We install granite countertops throughout Polk County and South Florida, generally as far south as Miami for qualifying projects. Our coverage includes Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Plant City, Haines City, Davenport, and Lake Alfred.
