Countertop and Stone Fabrication in Auburndale, FL

Every stone countertop we sell is cut, edged and finished in our own fabrication shop in Auburndale. There is no third-party fabricator, no broken telephone between template and install, and one team is accountable from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.

Owning the process means three things. The person who templates your kitchen works in the same building as the person cutting your stone. You can see your granite or marble slab before it is cut and confirm the layout with us. And the crew installing your countertop has direct access to the fabricator if a sink cutout, corner radius or backsplash needs a last-minute change.

Fabrication decides whether quartz, granite or marble looks clean and even or distracting. Most homeowner complaints trace back to seam placement, poor polishing, rushed cutouts and weak support, not the material itself. We plan seams, match veining and reinforce cutouts before the first cut.

Why fabrication shop

What to know before you choose

Seam planning

Seams are placed with your sight lines, island runs, cutouts, slab size, pattern direction and cabinet support points in mind, so they are stable, aligned and visually minimized.

Vein matching

On bold-veined quartz, marble and waterfall islands, we lay out the slab so the pattern flows across the seam. It takes planning and sometimes more material.

Mitered edges

Edges cut and joined to look like a thicker slab, a common island detail. It needs precise cuts, clean joins and strong reinforcement.

Cutouts and polish

Smooth polished sink edges, consistent corner radii, clean undermount reveals and reinforcement near the front rail.

Four materials

Quartz, granite, marble and porcelain slab. Each needs its own tooling, blade speed and finishing technique, and all are cut in the same shop.

Trade fabrication

Licensed contractors, remodelers, kitchen designers and builders use our shop for client projects through our contractor program.

How it works

From selection to installation

  1. Digital templating

A digital template tool captures wall variation, appliance cutouts and overhangs on-site to within 1/16 inch, after cabinets are installed. The file goes straight to the shop's CNC system.

  2. Slab inspection

For natural stone you view the full slab in our shop or at the supplier yard, and we mark cut lines together so you see which veining lands at the sink, cooktop and island.

  3. CNC cutting

Diamond-tipped, water-cooled cutting runs the slab to template. Sink cutouts, faucet holes, cooktop openings and edge rough cuts happen here, held to within 1/32 inch.

  4. Edge profiling

Eased, bevel, bullnose, ogee or custom profiles are shaped with hand-operated diamond grinders. Mitered waterfall edges take extra assembly steps.

  5. Polishing and finishing

Multi-step diamond polishing brings edge and surface to a polished, honed or leathered finish, with a quality check at each stage.

  6. Final QC and load

The shop foreman checks every piece against the original template, and dry-fit checks catch issues before they reach your kitchen.

FAQ

Fabrication shop: common questions

How long does fabrication take?

Typical fabrication is 5 to 7 business days for quartz and granite, and 7 to 10 business days for marble and porcelain slab, reflecting the different tooling and finishing each material needs. We confirm a specific schedule with your estimate.

Can I see my slab before you cut it?

Yes. We strongly recommend it for granite and marble because of slab-to-slab variation. We pull slabs to the shop floor or arrange viewing at the supplier yard, depending on the source.

Do you fabricate for contractors?

Yes. Contractors, remodelers and designers use our shop through a dedicated contractor program with trade pricing and a single trade contact. Homeowners book through the standard showroom process.

Can you fabricate a slab I bought elsewhere?

Generally no. Our workflow assumes we provide both the slab and the cutting work, which gives us control over slab quality and supplier accountability. We occasionally make exceptions for unusual specialty stones or salvage projects. Call to discuss.

Do you handle edge profiles in-house?

Yes. Every edge is shaped and polished by our own crew. Eased, bevel, bullnose and ogee are standard, and mitered waterfall, double bullnose and custom radius profiles are available on most materials. Porcelain is limited to eased or beveled edges because of its brittleness.

What is the largest slab you can fabricate?

Standard slabs run 9 to 10 feet long and 5 to 6 feet wide. Some Calacatta and Statuario blocks produce slightly larger slabs for islands without seams, and porcelain comes in 5 x 10 and 5 x 12 foot sizes.

What should I ask a countertop fabricator before I buy?

Where the seams will go and why, whether you can see the layout on the slab before cutting, whether vein matching will be attempted, which edge profile is included, how sink rails are reinforced, who is responsible for appliance specs and cutout accuracy, and how leveling is handled if cabinets are out of level.
